 About this Event

Let’s Reinvent is on a mission to raise awareness and opportunities globally for women, youth and people of underrepresented backgrounds to thrive in the tech-driven future.

The Reinventors Workshop is a free weekly themed series of virtual talks where we invite our featured esteemed speaker to share thought-provoking stories and action-oriented lessons.

Each workshop aims to enable attendees globally to learn, reflect, and take away lessons to make a change in their own selves personally and/or professionally as well as to effect action within their local communities.

About the Speaker: Maisie Barlow

Theater actress, coach

Maisie has worked professionally and non-professionally as an actress for the last 10 years with experience in both theatre and film.

She spent three and a half years living and working in New Zealand and is now a member of The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain.

She has appeared in a number of theatre productions, short film roles and music videos. She played the leading role in one woman show 'Mine' at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016 which was listed in The Scotsmans 'Top rated shows at the Edinburgh Festivals 2016' alongside plays such as John Tiffanys 'The Glass Menagerie'. 'Mine' also received a number of fantastic 4* reviews.

In 2017 the show won the IYAF Best of Brighton Fringe Theatre Award and the Festival Friends Choice Award alongside a nomination for the 'Best Individual Performance Award'. The show was then performed again at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2017 where it was nominated for a further two awards (NSDF Edinburgh Award and Drayton Arms Theatre Eddie Award). It also received an official commendation for acting from the National Student Drama Festival.

Following this the show did a short run at The Kings Head Theatre and Theatre503. It is now being developed to be used as a crime prevention tool to be taken into schools and through community outreach programs.

Maisie is also a spoken word artist, examples of this work can be found in the video section.

She is one half of the Theatre Company 'Put the Book Down'.
